Did you know that one of the best ways to increase your blog traffic is by improving your content, increasing engagement, and making it more valuable? The truth is that there are a lot of factors that can be used for this purpose but in my opinion, it was the most important one — content! And let’s get straight into some tips on how I did that.

The first tip I’d like to share with you is related to content. One of the most important things to do when trying to achieve great results on the blog — especially in terms of new users — is to focus on creating high-quality articles. If we look at the statistics from our previous article, “How to Increase Your Blog Traffic,” it shows that the average number of unique visitors to your website per day is between 7,700 and 8,000. These numbers indicate that people are visiting your page, reading your content, and engaging with your messages. This means that your content has more chances of getting clicked, read, and engaged. And since they all contribute to the same thing — attracting new readers to your site, you need to make sure that your content is worth reading. So, if you want to increase your blog traffic and improve your ROI, start focusing on quality instead of quantity.

Another essential factor to keep in mind is ensuring that your articles are valuable and relevant. People will always come back to your blog if they find something useful or entertaining to read. It can be about anything from recipes or fitness advice to music recommendations or politics. However, as an online business owner, you cannot rely on only having interesting articles and not providing value to the reader. There are many resources such as Google Trends which show trends over time where topics related to yours have been trending. With these insights, you can create more original content that will attract more attention and hopefully generate more conversions.

So, what does this mean for me? Well, here’s how I started to think of improving my blog traffic and my conversion rate in 6 months.

1. Prioritize SEO

First of all, it’s important to keep your head down and focus on developing good quality content. That way, even though you may still have a lot of competition on your side, the quality of your content will help you stand out from the crowd. Nowadays, most websites are using organic search results to rank higher in the SERP. But how do you go about doing so? You should start by optimizing your title, meta description, tags, etc. The goal of optimization is to create enough space so that search engines can easily recognize and understand what your article offers and the context that it is referring to. Let’s take this example of mine. I had an article that talked about affiliate marketing and I optimized the title and the meta description so that the reader could see that I am talking about affiliate tools and methods. To achieve better results, I also optimized the tag of the post to bring up the idea of an e-commerce store. When someone clicks on the article, they see that it is full of links to other pages where they can purchase products and services through affiliate programs. Those links in the title and the description are very important; they tell them what they will do next. Another thing to consider is the use of subheadings. As mentioned above, adding subheadings on top of your articles helps increase visibility and makes your posts more readable and easy for the audience to skim. Additionally, using bullet points and short paragraphs can help break your lengthy text up into smaller chunks which makes it easier for readers to skim your content. And lastly, make sure that your images are clearly labeled with alt text. Alt text is basically a small label for identifying images as part of the image alt-tags that appear under their name. It tells the user what kind of picture they are looking at. For instance, if you are talking about cooking tips, then your image would probably contain a kitchen, a plate, and utensils. Having this information in the image itself gives the visitor some much-needed context.

2. Use social media

Another effective way to improve your blog traffic is to promote yourself through social media. Social media can be an incredible tool to reach potential customers if done correctly. What matters here is that you create something valuable and eye-catching. For example, I did quite well on Facebook and Instagram and I knew that I needed to build up my following on each platform to drive more traffic to my blog. But I tried a different approach, which was just sharing my stories and connecting with people who have actually gone through my journey before. Not only did this help me gain more followers for my own website, but it also helped spread awareness of my brand. After reaching 100k+ followers on Facebook and 200k+ on Instagram, I decided to give it another try on Twitter and LinkedIn. Both of those platforms had pretty active communities and I made a point to follow every single person there. All of these conversations were positive for both my traffic and my revenue because it turned out that the conversation was also driving conversions. So, instead of merely retweeting someone’s tweet, I went ahead and replied to someone who had written a response to my story. It was a little tough to write a reply to someone who was not necessarily a fan of your brand; however, it did help me connect with others who shared similar experiences and I got my traffic and revenue back.

3. Add influencer tactics to your strategy

Influencers are people who have amassed a large following around specific topics or issues and are considered experts in that area. They are typically paid by brands to endorse certain products and services and are usually asked to speak at events that may bring even more exposure for the company. As of now, there are several influencer platforms available to anyone who wants to become famous within no time. Some notable ones include IGTV, Vevo, and Spotify. These platforms allow you to reach millions of people quickly and offer various strategies to engage with them. Personally, I was interested in building a list of 5-10 influencers whom I could connect to and collaborate with. I would talk to them once a week and send them updates so that they could stay focused, informed, and motivated about promoting any product or service that might interest them. This helped me get more traffic at the beginning but after a few weeks, I noticed that my audience was starting to grow too big to manage. So, instead of simply keeping my existing audience and trying to push away my competitors, I decided to add an extra layer of effort. We’re going to call this process Affiliate Marketing. Basically, everyone on these platforms becomes an affiliate link and gets rewarded for recommending a product or service to people. Essentially, we’re going to work together to build our community around particular topics which leads me directly to my next strategy — guest posting. Guest posting happens when a blogger creates content on behalf of a third party who has done something really cool. For instance, let’s say that Gary Vaynerchuk is writing a book called Best Self-Improvement Courses For 2023. He invited Neil Patel who’s a renowned self-improvement trainer on his podcast. Vaynerchuk put two lists on his website to promote the courses he wrote to the audience. Then he posted on Neil Patel’s channel on Medium and Neil featured him on his website. At the end of the month, Neil Patel gave Gary $100 to sign up for his newsletter. Neil ended up giving $500 to Gary who ultimately signed up and paid $1,000 later.

4. Create Content Ideas

Another way to increase your blog traffic is to develop fresh ideas. Most people are always looking for new content ideas on the internet and you need to be able to provide it for them. I know that I have been guilty of this in the past as well. Many times, I had new ideas for articles and I thought about pitching them to publications that I knew would be interested. However, I realized that not everything that you create online is valuable to readers and that’s why I had to make changes in order to get more traffic. First, I switched to long-form writing. Long forms are basically longer pieces of content that are more detailed, informative, and engaging. Second, I focused on finding niche topics that I could write about that also had a demand on the topic.

5. Give Back

Finally, the final tip that I would like to share with you is about being generous and giving back to your community. Giving back to your community is incredibly rewarding and it is essential that you show your appreciation and support for those who have supported you. Being involved in local charities and supporting causes is a surefire way to gain more exposure. Here are some examples: donating via PayPal, buying items online, participating in fundraising campaigns, and offering feedback to others on social media. Plus, don’t forget to thank your fans for their engagement and loyalty to your brand. Showing gratitude for their support has a huge impact on their perception of your brand.

In the end, being patient and persistent is crucial when it comes to success on the web. I believe that as soon as you combine these six steps with patience, persistence, and hard work, you will be able to turn your blog into a profitable venture on its own. Remember that every blog post that you publish, every comment you leave, and every interaction that you have with a reader are all important in determining whether or not your site will be successful. Take care of yourself and your readers, and watch your blog grow in popularity and income. Thank you for taking the time to read the article and please check out all tips and tricks we discussed!
